If you cannot tell from my previous posts or if you know me, I am a MASSIVE planner. I plan everything: my day, how I am going to go about a project, my blog posts, literally everything. If I do not have a plan, I feel a little lost. I do not like leaving things up to chance or playing things loose, because I always feel that there is a significantly higher likelihood that the thing I am trying to do will fail. However, there are times when I stop thinking about every angle and just go for something that I want, which is the entire subject of today’s post. There are so many moments in life where you should stop thinking and go for it. They can vary like crazy and come in multiple ways whether it concerns relationships, applying a new tactic in your life, pursing passions, or literally anything. Because of this, it can be really beneficial to be a planner, but there are SO many times you need to let it go and make the decision without thinking about every single little potential problem. If you are a massive planner like me but choose to remain as one, then your mind will prevent you from going forward and giving you the ability to achieve your goals.
Life is not always simple and calculable
There are so many unknown and unaccountable variables that will spring up throughout your life. Because of this, you cannot expect and anticipate everything. Let us use a really prevalent example, COVID-19 or also known as Coronavirus. This virus shook the world and changed everything. Now, nothing is normal. Furthermore, things that are probable might still not happen. It looked liked COVID-19 was going to fade away in a few months after it started, but then the amount of daily cases skyrocketed to double of the old peak. At this moment, it does not even look close to being done.
Because of COVID-19, everything that looked like a for sure is now completely up in the air. My study abroad program was shut down and all of my summer plans were cancelled. One of the most for sure things of hanging out with my friends is now hard, sparse, and it feels like I am walking on a thin wire. If you told me last year that a pandemic like this would cancel all of my plans, I would have probably thought you were crazy. However, life is so unpredictable. This is why you cannot always focus on whether there will always be a good result. You cannot always assume things will go a certain way. If you do things only because you KNOW for CERTAIN that something will happen, then you will never know everything that you could have gained.
One life, One ride
You only have one life, so make it count. There are probably plenty of things that you want to do that are not fundamentally good decisions. So what is stopping you from doing the things you want? Sure there might be some obvious reasons like COVID-19, but are you going to activate on your desires after this pandemic passes? It will eventually pass and then you have a chance to chase after what you want.
Do you want to be 100 years old and look back in your life just to see regret that you did not do something? NO, of course not; therefore, you need to just make the decision to just do it. Travel if you want to. Start that business that you always wanted to start. Pick up that hobby. Figure out what you want and go for it. If you already know what you want, then go for it. What are you doing waiting around? What validation are you seeking? No one is going to do anything for you until you do it! If you like a girl or a boy, tell them. If you want to build your own computer, build it. If you want to get in better shape, then start running and working out. You have all the information in the world and all you need to do is act on what you want.
Stop worrying about every detail and just do it
Life is constantly giving us curveballs, but we have to choose what we are going to do about them. Are we going to act on what we want or are we going to wait because now does not seem like the best time? Are we going to plan out every detail or are we going to do it because now is the time to do it? You do not know when the best time will be, so stop overthinking and overplanning the situation and go for it. If you stumble, then pick yourself up and learn from the situation. Your life is in your hands, so use it well.
